The project team collaborated with OP-TEC, The National Center for Optics and Photonics Education, to re-think, re-tool, and re-invent an existing print textbook as an immersive, engaging, interactive e-textbook.

The team worked with OP-TEC subject matter experts to infuse interactivity with purpose to help students grasp difficult concepts or "muddiest points".

The interactive e-textbook is available for purchase through the Apple iBooks Store.  Free instructor evaluation samples are available through the OP-TEC website in both iBooks and PDF formats.

OP-TEC is a consortium of two-year colleges, high schools, universities, national laboratories,  industry partners, and professional societies funded by the National ScienceFoundation's Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program to increase the supply of well-educated Photonics Technicians by building and strengthening the capacity and quality of photonics education in U.S. two-year colleges.
